Account Manager; Architectural Products

Job Description

Profile: Our client is a manufacturer of architectural products used in construction of homes, condos, commercial and industrial projects. We are looking for an Account manager that will be the main contact for current and future glazing customers in all market segments of its territory. The Account manager will have to maintain between 75 to 120 customers, depending on the territory. That person will also identifies the needs and advises in the definition of an adapted offer of the products with glaziers, general contractors, institutional managers (school boards, government real estate) and property owners and will developed an effective and efficient business relationship with all the internal departments of the organization and the client in order to deliver a sound service delivery and a stellar service to their customer.

Territory: West Central Quebec and the Ottawa Region OR East Central Quebec (there are 2 positions available)
Workplace: Work from home and at the office once a week for meeting
Products/Services: Architectural building products
Salary:$65,000 to $70,000
Commissions/Bonus: approx $25,000 / year based on existing customer base
Car allowance:$600 / month (taxable benefit) plus $ 0.30km allowance
Expense's reimbursement: all business expenses reimbursed

Closed between Christmas and New Year's

Functions:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of sales plans and strategies;
  • Communicate proactively to present the company, its products, services, news, promotional activities, tools and materials;
  • Achieve budgeted sales volume and recommend contingency plans and alternatives based on market conditions;
  • Manage project research (SEAO and on the web) and develop a contract monitoring tool.
  • Monitor the territory by identifying and clearly communicating the environment, namely the competition, construction and renovation projects, trends and market prices;
  • Ensure the dissemination of information on our products, lead training sessions, advise customers on the selection of our products, propose budget prices and participate in negotiations in order to conclude the sale;
  • Follow up on calls for tenders and identified projects in order to direct and coordinate business opportunities towards current and potential customers;
  • Manage project research (SEAO and on the web) and develop a contract
  • Collaborate effectively with all internal departments for the development of bids, specifications, analysis of plans and shop drawings in order to obtain orders and respect agreed deadlines;
  • Complete and submit follow-ups on bids, projects and the various customer meeting, sales and administrative reports required;
  • Participate in events such as conferences and trade shows;
Requirements:

Development vs Maintenance:20% vs 80%
Road vs Office:70% vs 30%
Languages: French and English
Education: Diploma in a technical field or building envelop experience, or construction
Training: On the job provided, lots of training available
Overnight Travel: very little overnight travel
Years of experience: Relevant experience of at least 5 years in the B2B sale of products in the field of construction

Other requirements:
  • Knowledge of non-residential building an asset (commercial, institutional and industrial);
  • Expertise and experience in business development
Transferable contacts:
  • Contacts within the construction industry or glaziers and general contractors is a nice to have
Transferable Knowledge:
  • Functional knowledge in general administration and proficiency in Microsoft software;
  • Autonomy and entrepreneurship;
  • Experience in individual or group presentations;
  • Ability to manage several files at the same time and know how to prioritize them;
