Position Summary



The

Account Development Specialist

is responsible for managing customer accounts not covered by the Key Accounts program while identifying and developing new sales opportunities. This newly created role combines customer relationship management with proactive market development to expand Ocean Trout Canada's reach in domestic and international markets. The successful candidate will maintain consistent communication with existing customers, build new relationships with prospective buyers, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.

Key Responsibilities



Manage relationships with assigned customer accounts, ensuring consistent communication, service quality, and satisfaction. Identify, research, and pursue new customer opportunities to grow sales across retail, foodservice, and distribution channels. Develop and execute account plans focused on revenue growth and market expansion. Collaborate with the Key Accounts Specialist, logistics, and quality teams to ensure alignment in service and fulfillment standards. Support contract and pricing discussions within approved parameters. Maintain accurate account information in CRM systems, tracking inquiries, orders, and opportunities. Gather market intelligence and feedback to support product positioning, pricing strategies, and business development initiatives. Represent Ocean Trout Canada at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows as required.

Key Skills and Requirements



Minimum

3 years of experience

in sales, account management, or business development, preferably in the seafood or food industry. Proven ability to generate new business and build lasting customer relationships. Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Solid understanding of supply chain and product handling considerations for perishable goods. Self-motivated and results-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to analyze sales performance and market trends to identify growth opportunities. Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in French and/or Spanish is considered an asset.

Work Environment



Based on-site in

Charlotte County, NB

Bedford, NS

, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements. Occasional travel may be required for customer visits, prospect meetings, or industry events. Standard business hours apply, with flexibility to accommodate customer needs and time zones.
