Job Description

Shalom Counselling Centre is a non-profit, faith based charity and we are looking for a part time Accounts Administrator. We provide professional, financially accessible counselling, to individuals and families facing emotional or relationship challenges. We require someone who shares a vision for the ministry, who has a mature faith, strong people skills, as well as strong technical and organization skills.

In the role of Accounts Administrator, you will be essential in managing accounts and ensuring seamless operations within the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, Board Treasurer and Operations Manager; you will leverage your core skills in account management and communication. Your premium skills in SAGE Accounting, proficiency in Microsoft Office and organizational skills will support effective data analysis and reporting. Educational Requirements



Formal training in the following as evidenced by diploma or an equivalent in:

Accounts Administration

o Business & Charitable Accounting

o Project Accounting

o Departmental Accounting

SAGE Accounting

o Accounts Payable

o Accounts Receivable

o Payroll

o Financial Statement Preparation

o Account Reconciliation

Microsoft Office

o Word

o Excel

o Access

o Outlook

Additional skills & experience

Accounts receivable follow up

Familiarity with Charity Tax Regulations

Preparation of T3010, T4, GST, and charitable receipts

Budget Research

Strong Ability to:

Communicate effectively in person and on paper

Follow verbal and written instructions

Work independently on routine tasks

Concentrate for extended periods of time

Pay close attention to detail, but also able to switch back and forth between tasks

The Accounts Administrator will be asked to commit to the following:



To represent Shalom Counselling Centre in a positive fashion

To participate in team meetings and functions, and Shalom's public functions in such a way as to promote good will and team spirit.

To provide necessary information and/or input to the Executive Director and Operations Manager when policy is being made in their areas of responsibility.

To maintain a high quality of professional service by pursuing ongoing professional development

Compensation & Hours:



Pay to commensurate at market rate for the skill & training in this sector

Group benefit package, for employees half time or more, and professional development

This position is part time



The Accounts Administrator will need to commit to the principles and policies of Shalom's Team Handbook as a requirement of employment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19,762.00-$21,993.00 per year
