The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), Customer & Corporate Service, the Accessibility Coordinator will act as the subject matter expert and play a key role in promoting accessibility within the Town of Collingwood. This position will coordinate and lead the Town of Collingwood's response and compliance to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and other relevant legislation, while providing expertise, training and support to enhance accessibility across municipal programs, services, and facilities. The Coordinator provides policy development, compliance and monitoring, as well as the preparation of and consultation regarding the multi-year accessibility plan, and responding to ministry accessibility reporting requirements, community accessibility feedback, and audit requests. The position also oversees and acts as the lead staff resource to support the Accessibility Advisory Committee.
