About this Opportunity
The Access Services Supervisor works within a team of 8 supervisors and supports UVic Libraries' values and goals by assisting library users at multiple services points across UVic Libraries, directing workflow, and acting as a resource for staff in coordinating and accomplishing daily operations for Access Services & Resource Sharing. In addition, the Access Services Supervisor provides operational support for the Manager of Access Services & Resource Sharing, supervises Music & Media functions by ordering, processing, and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment and media, oversees film digitzation and Music & Media reserves, compiles reports and statistics, conducts performance check-ins, and contributes to or oversees other projects as needed.

The Libraries are made up of approximately 150 employees including Faculty Librarians, professional and CUPE staff, and student assistants. Reporting to the Manager, Access Services, this position supports the University of Victoria Libraries' values and goals by supervising a strong and diverse staff team dedicated to service excellence who provide service to library users at multiple service points across UVic Libraries. As a member of the Access Services supervisory team, this role assigns staff and delegates work to ensure efficient operations in order to create consistently outstanding service for library users.
This position requires occasionally moving weights over 10 kgs (22 lbs.) and accessing items from a variety of heights. This position may be required to work varied day, evening and weekend shifts.
Job Requirements
Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in a similar position, preferably in a post-secondary or institutional environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
