July 19, 2024ACADEMIC PROGRAM OFFICER (BAND LEVEL 9)Faculty of ScienceDepartment of Psychology(Contractual Position to May 1, 2025)The University will consider applications from qualified permanent staff who may be interested in a secondment, subject to departmental approvalDUTIESThe successful applicant will work under the direction of the Department Head to provide academic program support for the Department\xe2\x80\x99s undergraduate program. Duties include assisting the Department Head with the selection and scheduling of undergraduate courses; providing academic advice to the Department\xe2\x80\x99s undergraduate students on subjects including majors and minors, admissions, processing various forms relating to registration, and prerequisite waivers; administrating change of grade forms; participating as a member of the Psychology Undergraduate Studies Committee and Faculty of Science Undergraduate Studies Committee; preparing formal Calendar change documents and responding to intra-university consultations on Calendar changes; participating in departmental tours, mini enrichment courses, and other outreach activities; processing Class Audit Reports (undergraduate and graduate); and performing other related duties as required.This position will be required to assist with other departments in the Faculty of Science, as needed.QUALIFICATIONSExperience (3-5 years) advising in an academic environment; completion of a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Psychology; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. A demonstrated understanding of post-secondary undergraduate programs and regulations is required. Excellent writing, oral communication, presentation, and organizational skills are required.
