Under the supervision of the Research Supervisor, the Academic Associate will contribute to the fulfillment and coordination of structural biology projects as well as contribute to the CRBS through the maintenance of NMR platform and publications.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES


  • Support staff and students with the overall implementation and coordination of research projects in structural biology (including, but not limited to: attending project meetings and teleconferences, filling in reports, etc);

  • Provide input and support in the conception and drafting of grant proposals;

  • Participate in organization, distribution and oversight of the work of research staff and students involved in an assigned research project; participate in their training;

  • Draft publications for peer reviewed scientific journals;

  • Present the research described above at Canadian and international academic venues;

  • Contribute to the supervision of graduate students and teaching within the Department of Biochemistry;

  • Conduct regular project team meetings, providing recognition for team and individuals, provide constructive feedback, ensuring high levels of enthusiasm for, and commitment to, the projects;

  • Keep abreast of any new developments in the field and new technologies;

  • Collaborate with other teams at the CRBS;

  • Work in a self-sufficient manner as well as a team member in a matrix environment;

  • Perform any other activity assigned by the Research Supervisor and other Directors at the CRBS

Education/Experience required:

  • Minimum Ph.D required

  • 2-3 years of research experience required in related field
