The Neurodegenerative Disease Research Group, at the Montreal Neurological Institute at McGill University is seeking to hire an outstanding candidate for an Academic Associate position. Our group is developing a new, exciting program in antibody validation. The program aims to partner with disease charities and antibody manufacturers to test and characterize antibodies against proteins involved in neurodegenerative disease. The successful candidate will work on the development of this exciting program.

The Academic Associate will have the following duties:

  • Contribute to the detailed development of the program\xe2\x80\x99s research efforts.
  • Co-ordinate with and further develop relationships with research funding partners
  • Co-ordinate with and further develop relationships with antibody manufacturing partners.
  • Co-ordinate collaborations with the members of the Neurodegenerative disease research group
  • Lead efforts to develop new technologies for antibody validation
  • Lead efforts to streamline and improve functionality of the current antibody validation platforms
  • Lead efforts to develop strategies to facilitate recruitment and retention of scientists to operate the antibody validation platform
  • Support Dr. McPherson in the supervision of the staff of the antibody validation platform.
This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated applicant who wants to utilize their biochemical and cell biological leadership skills to work on a program that bridges academia with industry.

Required qualifications: PhD in Biochemistry/Cell Biology/Neuroscience with a minimum two years experience as a biomedical scientist. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
