Duties:Facilitate, coordinate, enhance and promote ALS research at the McGill University and nationally by developing and executing research projects at the McGill University while linking with pan-Canadian partner sites.
Coordinate and oversee the CAPTURE ALS national research program.
Ensure continuous support to the CAPTURE ALS executive committee in the delivery of up-to-date information pertaining to operations, development and sustainability of the platform, confirming priorities and timeframes.
Plan and organize phases of CAPTURE ALS and related projects and set operational procedures and deadlines to ensure smooth delivery of multiple project activities, including sample processing and data collection, participant recruitment and engagement activities and communication/outreach activities.
Manage the personnel and activities of the CAPTURE ALS coordinator committee, ensuring that deliverables are met and that there is consistency and collaboration between clinics and research centres involved in CAPTURE ALS.
Lead and/or attend all internal and external meetings held by formal CAPTURE ALS Committees (executive, scientific, advisory, participant partner advisory council, coordinator) and working groups (C-BIG, LORIS, data modalities).
Develop, write and maintain CAPTURE ALS internal policies, guidelines, standard operating procedures and study materials.
Partner with C-BIG and LORIS teams at the Montreal Neurological Institute, the database administrator at the University of Alberta and other relevant individuals and teams to establish uniform collection, storage and sharing of high-quality multi-modal data and bio samples collected through CAPTURE ALS.
Review contract terms and budgets for CAPTURE ALS sites and related projects.
Collaborate with sites on CAPTURE ALS start-up and maintenance activities, ensuring the project meets all initial and up to date local regulatory, institutional and contractual requirements.
Build, nurture and maintain relationships with internal and external CAPTURE ALS stakeholders including patients and partners, researchers and clinicians, the pharmaceutical industry, not-for profit organizations, government agencies, exercising a high level of professionalism at all times.
Promote the CAPTURE ALS brand to the Canadian patient community and to the global research community through presentations at internal and external events, developing communication pieces (including website content) and liaising with new and existing PR channels.
Pursue and support new revenue-generating opportunities at the local, national and international level for CAPTURE ALS.
Write project proposals, grant proposals and publications as required by the CAPTURE ALS team.
Write detailed scientific and financial reports as required by funders.

Length of Appointment: Full time position of 40 hours per week for one year.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Other Qualifying Skills and Abilities:Minimum qualifications: PhD in science (biology, microbiology, immunology, neuroscience, etc.) or Master's degree (Applied) in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech language pathology, or equivalent, or; B.Sc. in nursing and must be an active member of a relevant professional order (OIIQ active licence).
Two or more years of clinical research experience.
Three or more years of project management experience in a healthcare environment. Three or more years of combined experience in team building and managing personnel, students and complex initiatives. Equivalences will be considered.
