Description:

Otter Co-op invites applications for the position of Pharmacy Manager as we grow our team and products/programs at our new Retail Center located in Abbotsford, BC.

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the Pharmacy department to improve customer service, program execution and company profitability. This includes scheduling, appraisals, budgeting and attainment of financial results along with the overall management of image, standards, implementation and adherence to company programs, policies and procedures as well as human resources related activities.

The specific responsibilities of the Pharmacy Manager include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Pharmacy Department in accordance with the company policies, procedures, programs, merchandising standards and overall expectations.
  • Provide feedback to the Pharmacy Division Manager regarding recommendations for continued improvement of operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding pricing, financial and marketing strategies.
  • Develop and administer action plans to achieve the desired results of the business plan.
  • Develop and maintain a team environment that is based on Otter Co-op\xe2\x80\x99s brand and values.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development and achievement of operational and financial results including, sales, margins, expense, inventory and SPEH for your department.
  • Provide leadership and work closely with Human Resources in the areas of employee relations, hiring, training, development, performance management, discipline, recognition, termination, security, administration of policy and procedures and disability claims.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) including participation in OH&S activities, ensuring employees understand and comply with OH&S policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Responsible to assist with adherence to government regulations in the areas of price integrity, labeling, sanitation and food and safety.
  • Network and communicate professionally with suppliers and FCL Regional Sales Coordinator.
  • Maintain customer service standards by tracking, monitoring and follow-up of customer comments and complaints in a timely efficient manner.
  • Perform or assist with performance reviews and action plans for development.
  • Provide excellent service to guests in a courteous, efficient manner and within approved programs, policies and procedures.
  • Liaison within the community as a representative for Otter Co-op.
  • Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy.
  • Licensed Pharmacist in BC and in good standing with the BC College of Pharmacists.
  • Minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in community.
  • Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a Pharmacy Manager.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in retail pharmaceutical systems and dispensing procedures.
  • Full knowledge of Kroll computer system.
  • Full knowledge of BC pharmacare and BC college regulations.
  • Knowledge of public reimbursement programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and the ability to manage computer files and systems efficiently.
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership and communications skills.
  • Motivation and ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Effective planning, organization and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain relationships outside of the organization that support the organization.
  • Must be available 7 days a week to work between early mornings, afternoons and late evenings.
The successful applicant will be subject to a background security clearance and criminal records check. Some out-of-province travel may be required to attend conferences.
