Position Description

The In-Home ABA Team (I-HAT) is a new service offering within the Children & Youth Program, providing clients aged 1-18 with autism, developmental and sensory related concerns in home ABA services. Reporting to the ABA Clinical Supervisor, the ABA Therapist will provide trauma informed behavior reduction programs and a variety of skill building programs, including but not limited to communication, social/interpersonal skills and behavior management/emotional regulation.
Main Responsibilities

Develop and deliver individual sessions in the areas of communication, behavior management/emotional regulation and social/interpersonal skills to children and youth who have complex behavioral and emotional needs.
Provide parent training, education and support services.
Work under the clinical direction of the ABA Clinical Supervisor.
Implement ABA programs, monitor progress and adjust services accordingly.
Collect and monitor data.
Administer functional assessments.
Develop individual goals and strategies.
Identify additional service needs as appropriate and assist family in accessing services.
Provide modelling techniques and strategies.
Adhere to agency requirements with relation to report writing and record keeping.
Hours of operation include ability to work evenings and Saturdays.
Services will be delivered in home or in the community based on the client's preference.
Travel may be required.
Qualifications

College diploma or university degree in a field related to behavioural science technology, psychology, or social services.
Two years' experience working with children/youth with complex behavioural/social emotional needs and their families, using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
Knowledge of typical and atypical child and adolescent development.
Knowledge of the principles of ABA and ability to translate these into effective intervention strategies for children and youth.
Experience providing parent training and coaching including delivery of workshops considered an asset.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong initiative.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Boardmaker.
The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening).
Fluency in French is considered an asset.
