plays a key role in our CNC Department, programming and operating both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines using Cimatron software with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls. You'll work hands-on with advanced equipment, contribute to continuous improvement, and help support and mentor future team members. This role also includes supporting the maintenance and care of CNC machinery and performing additional tasks as assigned by the Shop Foreman.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will (including but not limited to):
Collaborate closely with the Shop Foreman, department leads, and shop personnel to keep projects moving efficiently.
Help ensure team adherence to company policies, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Maintain a high level of workmanship and contribute to continuous improvement within the department.
Assist in the installation, setup, and implementation of new CNC equipment.
Work directly with external contractors for machine repairs as required.
Perform daily equipment maintenance and safety checks; identify, record, and report defective products or issues.
Monitor CNC supply and consumable inventory levels and notify the Shop Foreman as needed.
Identify equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
Qualifications
Previous CNC machining and programming experience required.
Experience in automotive fixture and gauge manufacturing preferred.
Proficiency with Heidenhain and Fanuc controls required.
Experience with Cimatron preferred, or the ability to learn new software quickly.
Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when needed.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with employees and management.
Willingness to attend and participate in meetings as required.
