Job Description

We are currently accepting applications for a 4th class power engineer, at our seafood processing facilities in Old Perlican and Bay de Verde, NL. Training will be provided for the various steam and refrigeration systems. Accommodations will be provided for those who need it.

Job requirements:



A 4rd class power engineering certificate of competence is required. Work experience with steam and industrial refrigeration systems would be an asset but not required.

Responsibilities/Duties:



Under the supervision of the chief engineer, the operating shift engineer will carry out their responsibilities with attention to detail and will be required, but not limited to the following duties:

- After initial training is provided to work independently during your shift ensuring tasks are performed accurately and safely.

- Operate and monitor industrial ice making equipment.

- Operate and monitor high pressure steam boilers and distribution systems.

- Operate and monitor blast and plate freezers.

- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all ammonia and freon refrigeration compressors and distribution systems at the plant, adhering to provincial/federal regulations.

- Perform checks to maximize efficiency of equipment and resources.

- Perform other duties as assigned

Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
