ROLE





Performs duties, as required, in conjunction with the pharmacists and pharmacy leadership, for the efficient operation of the pharmacy department. Travel among sites and being part of an on-call rotation is required on a regularly scheduled basis.



REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)


Registered with Ontario College of Pharmacists Diploma from a recognized College

Please note:

Pharmacy Support I (Technicians) may be hired post-graduate but pre-licensure in specific circumstances


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)


Organized and self directed, including the ability to multitask Works well as a team member and with other health care professionals Able to work independently, with initiative and within structured guidelines Good written and verbal communication skills Computer literate, including the Meditech System Well developed pharmaceutical calculation skills and knowledge of trade/generic drug names Experienced aseptic technique and handling of chemotherapeutic agents Experienced in drug order entry Knowledgeable of drug distribution systems Familiar with narcotic and controlled drug legislation and its application to the hospital setting Experienced with drug purchasing and inventory control Ability to travel among sites as required Ability to participate in a regular on-call rotation as required Ability to keep up-to-date with technological advance In possession of a valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel among sites
