Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated 3rd/4th Block Construction Electrician Apprentice to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the electrical trade while working under the guidance of skilled electricians. The apprentice will assist in various electrical tasks on construction sites, contributing to both industrial and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial and light industrial environments. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics accurately. Install and bend EMT to specification. Assist with distribution panel installs, transformer wiring, and service rough-ins. Work with motor controls, starters, and variable frequency drives (VFDs). Run and terminate control, data, and communication wiring. Perform fire alarm rough-in, device installation, and testing under supervision of licensed technicians. Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Support journeyman electricians and project leads in daily tasks and material coordination. Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate tools and testing equipment. Communicate effectively with crew members, site supervisors, and other trades.

Experience

Registered 3rd or 4th year apprentice with the NS Apprenticeship Agency (or equivalent). Minimum 3 years' experience in the electrical trade, with a strong background in commercial construction. Residential experience considered an asset. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Current WHMIS, Fall Protection, and First Aid certifications considered an asset.

Pay: $28.00-$37.00 per hour
