We are currently looking for a 3rd Class Power Engineer to join the team based out of our location in Moose Jaw, SK. Brief The 3rd Class Power Engineer will be responsible for managing all facility mechanical power systems (boiler, refrigeration & HVAC systems) and ensure operational uptime on all systems. Key focus will be on the overall preventative and predictive maintenance strategies ensuring production demands are consistently met while complying with applicable legislation. The incumbent will initiate, perform and manage the work related to supporting these systems and oversee all 3rd party external trades when required to preform work. Responsibilities Administration
  • Make recommendations to the Manager for the replacement and/or purchase of key equipment as required.
  • Oversee the preventative documentation.
  • Advise the Manager of personnel scheduling issues to ensure activities are carried out efficiently and effectively to support the production demands.
  • Manage the daily payroll approvals for team employees.
Plant Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Monitors the operation of plant equipment and power systems.
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and power systems to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Proactively anticipate issues and develop solutions to remedy these potential problems.
  • Regularly inspect facility to identify potential risks.
  • Ensure contractors have required WorkSafe coverage and their procedures are aligned to regulations.
  • Assist the Manager as required to manage projects for Company expansion or changes.
  • Commit to continuous improvement in the manufacturing operations and processes, while maintaining our customer expectations, minimizing waste and plant mechanical down time.
Safety and Quality Assurance
  • Collaborate with Safety Director on the development and review of safety programs relating to maintenance and maintenance personnel.
  • Enforce compliance with all federal, provincial, and local government legislation, codes, acts and operating regulations including HACCP & CFIA.
  • Provide support to the Maintenance Manager in the successful pursuit of certifications and audits as it pertains to maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to standard Company operating procedures and policies.
Leadership
  • Coordinate and assist in directing the efforts of the team.
  • Lead by example in actively pursuing company goals.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with Plant Manager, QA and Production team.
  • Provide guidance and regular coaching to foster growth and development on the team.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Certified 3rd Class Power Engineer.
  • Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience supervising a team.
  • Refrigeration experience an asset
  • Committed to Safety and Teamwork.
  • Strong understanding of WorkSafe Sask regulations relating to scope of work.
  • Proven track record of success, adding value as both an individual contributor and active team member.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the Plant & maintenance personnel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ease in dealing with a variety of people.
  • Ability to manage projects on-time acting with a sense of urgency.
