We are seeking a skilled and experienced 310T Mechanic to join our team from
Monday to Friday on a biweekly rotation (days and afternoons).
You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks and equipment used in our metal recycling operations. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety.
What you're responsible for:
Performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, loaders, forklifts, and other equipment used in metal recycling operations
Identifying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and implement effective repair solutions
Following established maintenance schedules to perform regular servicing, fluid changes, lubrication, and component replacements
Conducting major and minor repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system replacements, and hydraulic system troubleshooting
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including service reports, parts usage, and equipment history in compliance with regulatory requirements
Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices in the shop and field environments
Coordinating with the Parts Department to order necessary parts, track inventory levels, and ensure the availability of required components for repairs and maintenance
Qualifications
To join our team:
You have a valid 310T Truck and Coach certificate (an asset)
You have experience as a 310T Mechanic, preferably in a heavy-duty trucking or maintenance environment
You have knowledge of heavy-duty truck and equipment components, including engines, transmissions and diagnosis
You have excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
You have the ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and workload
You have experience in the metal recycling industry (an asset)
