Position Summary:
As a
309A Construction / Maintenance Apprentice Electrician
, you will play a vital role in the
installation, maintenance, and repair
of electrical systems across various projects. You'll ensure the
safe and efficient execution
of work in compliance with the
Ontario Electrical Safety Code
and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with Electrical Work Execution:
Support licensed electricians in
installing, maintaining, and repairing
electrical systems, including
wiring, panels, switches, transformers, motors, and generators
. Gain hands-on experience and develop troubleshooting skills under supervision.
Learn and Develop Skills:
Participate in
on-the-job training
and
technical instruction
to build knowledge of electrical theory, codes, and safe work practices.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all
workplace safety regulations
, properly use
protective equipment (PPE)
, and assist in maintaining a
safe job site
.
Material Handling and Inventory Management:
Assist with
tracking materials, tools, and equipment
, ensuring proper storage and organization on job sites.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with
journeyperson electricians
and
project managers
to coordinate tasks and complete projects on time.
Care for Company Property:
Assist in maintaining
tools, vehicles, and equipment
, ensuring they are in
good working condition
and properly stored.
Support Senior Electricians:
Provide assistance with
installations, troubleshooting, and repairs
, while learning industry best practices and
Ontario Electrical Safety Code
requirements.
Qualifications:
Enrollment in an Apprenticeship Program:
Must be registered or eligible to register as an
Electrical Apprentice
in Ontario.
Education:
Completion of
high school diploma
or equivalent, with a focus on
math, physics, or technical courses
being an asset.
Interest in Electrical Trade:
Strong desire to learn and build a career in the electrical industry.
Work EthicAttitude:
Hardworking, reliable, and eager to
gain hands-on experience
while working under the supervision of licensed electricians.
Safety Awareness:

all workplace safety procedures
