Position Overview
The
Plumber
is responsible for
installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems
in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, and the ability to complete work independently or as part of a team across
commercial, Industrial, and institutional projects
.
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, heating, and plumbing systems.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and materials required.
Assemble, install, and secure pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures using appropriate tools and techniques.
Conduct tests on plumbing systems for leaks and functionality.
Perform preventive maintenance and respond to service calls as needed.
Adhere to all building codes, safety procedures, and company standards.
Collaborate with apprentices, tradespeople, and project teams to ensure high-quality results.
Complete daily reports, time sheets, and maintain accurate work records.
Mentor and train plumbing apprentices when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Valid
Ontario Certificate of Qualification (306A - Plumber)
Minimum
4 years of plumbing experience
in commercial, institutional, or residential settings
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, standards, and safety practices
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
Proficient troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Physically fit to lift materials and work in diverse environments (indoors, outdoors, heights, confined spaces)
Valid
driver's license
and clean abstract
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions
Work performed on
construction sites, client facilities, and service environments
Exposure to varying weather and job site conditions
Use of
personal protective equipment (PPE)
required
Occasional overtime, evenings, or weekends depending on project needs
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive hourly wage:
$35-$50/hr
(based on qualifications and experience)
