PURPOSE
The Second Cook has the skill set allowing the kitchen leaders to utilize them to prepare basic stocks, as well as the ability to produce all items from the restaurant menus. The Second Cook is a utility type team member with good basic skills. In charge of all aspects of food production and service in their station, this position also assists with banquet production as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
3 years experience as Third Cook or 1 year experience as Second Cook
Level 1 Food Safe Certified
Excellent communication skills
Must be personable and able to multi task while under extreme pressure and maintain composure
Must have own knives.
Must have good knife handling skills
Must be available for shift work.
Able to prepare all bar food items.
Formal culinary education an asset
Must be able to work in a team environment
Must have a passion for the culinary arts and be open and able to learn new skills and techniques
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
First aid is an asset.
Outgoing, friendly and positive
