The 2nd Class Operating Engineer will be based out of Toronto, Ontario (1551 Weston Road, M6M 4Y4) and will reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Job Requirements

• 2nd Class Operating Engineer License
• Engineering graduate preferred or completion of college/technical training
• Millwright/Electrician License would be an asset
• Experience with electronic, PLC and DCS controls
• Demonstrated trouble shooting skills (operational and maintenance)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Effective communication skills
• Experience in developing cross functional/organizational relationships
• Familiarity with GMP and safe work practices

The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:

• Operate automated computerized control systems for 15 MW Co Generation power plant consisting of gas turbine, high pressure steam boilers, gas compressor, air compressors and diesel generator
• Start/Stop, monitor and inspect plant equipment
• Perform synchronization of turbine and diesel generator
• Measure temperature, flow, pressure, and power systems
• Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunctions
• Troubleshoot and perform corrective actions, or minor repairs as required
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and use computerized PM system
• Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance, and safety activities
• Assist in the development of operation, maintenance, and safety procedure

Note: Must be willing to work 8 hours day shift as well as 12-hour shifts in rotating cycle 3-day shifts, 3 days off, 3-night shifts, 3 days off or as shift reliever
