CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families. CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle \xe2\x80\x93 mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital. CASA\xe2\x80\x99s team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners. This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs. About the Role
The Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Specialist will help to build a culture of inclusion and diversity within the organization. They will do this through the development of objectives, strategies, programs, policies and other initiatives. The EDI Specialist will engage and collaborate across all functions of the organization and with partners, stakeholders, leaders and employees. They will effect positive changes that support CASA\xe2\x80\x99s journey toward creating a safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace; and providing safe and culturally-sensitive mental health services. The EDI Specialist will:
  • Work with CASA leaders, employees and stakeholders to increase purposeful diversity, advance equity, improve accessibility and foster inclusivity in the workplace and in the services we provide.
  • Participate in organizational Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIA) strategy development that advances CASA\xe2\x80\x99s mission.
  • Collaborate with the Indigenous Services team to support meaningful organizational commitment and participation in Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources department on recruitment, retention and workforce equity analysis, and the development of recommendations, programs and/or initiatives.
  • Conduct EDIA research, collect and analyze statistical data, and develop resources including reports, policies and best practices guides.
  • Establish and maintain trusted, positive relationships internally and externally, and attend community meetings/events as necessary to advance EDIA knowledge and to create impactful partnerships.
  • Support ongoing development and delivery of EDIA training, evaluate organizational progress and identify additional relevant learning needs.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential content and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Skill and comfort in developing and facilitating workshops for adult learners.
  • Solid human relations skills including interpersonal, conflict resolution, coaching, team building, training and motivation skills.
  • Strong organizational, information technology, research, change management and project management skills.

Minimum salary: $74,000
Maximum salary: $110,000
Hours per shift: 7.25

Days off: Saturday and Sunday Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related field, such as gender studies, human resources, social sciences, education or social work. A graduate degree is considered an asset.
  • Lived experience and understanding of diverse and marginalized communities is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of and proven experience in EDIA, including knowledge of applicable Canadian legislation.
  • Proven experience successfully driving cultural and behavioural changes needed to create an inclusive environment.
  • Experience developing EDIA and social justice frameworks, strategies, programs and practices with a demonstrated expertise in the intersectionality of various forms of power, privilege and oppression in the workplace, service provision and society.
