Duties and Responsibilities:





This position reports to the Director and is responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of Brandon University and the Healthy Living Centre. Duties include, but are not limited to: cleaning, buffing and waxing floors, carpet care, auto scrubbing, changing light bulbs, snow and ice removal, bed-making in university residences, cleaning washrooms, walls, and windows, emptying garbage cans, and ensuring overall cleanliness before, during, and after sporting events. Additional related duties may be assigned as needed.


Required Qualifications and Experience:





The preferred candidate will possess a minimum of Grade 12 or GED, along with two (2) years of experience in institutional cleaning and groundskeeping, or a combination of equivalent education and experience. The candidate must be physically capable of performing all aspects of the role, including repetitive tasks such as bending, heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in elevated areas using ladders. A physical demands assessment will be conducted as part of the hiring process. A valid Class 5 driver's license is required, and the candidate should be able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.


NOTE


This is a part-time (52%), indefinite term position beginning as soon as possible and will end at such time as the regular employee returns. Shifts will be scheduled from Monday to Thursday 5:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and Friday from 5:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.
