Role:

Our client is currently seeking an experienced #201155 Cloud Architect (Contract) starting on or around November 2022 for a 5-month contract with possibility of extension at client's discretion. The work may be completed remotely but the resource must reside in Canada for the duration of the project. The ideal candidate will have 6 years' experience as an IT Infrastructure Architect with a minimum 3yrs in Cloud Architecture. Experience designing/implementing Cloud services (i.e., AWS /Azure / Google), providing technical guidance, and architecting new IT services is required. Previous experience (2yrs) implementing cloud services in 2 or more hyper-scale providers (i.e., AWS, Azure, or Google) is required. All candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Mandatory requirements:

  • 3 years' experience using service management tools / techniques when providing consultation on projects within existing and/or new operational processes.
  • 3 years' experience assisting project teams in determining specific solutions in a multi-cloud environment.
  • 3 years' experience deploying/implementing services within a cloud environment in a manner that is conducive to Infrastructure as Code.
  • 2 years' experience providing solutions to clients i.e., technical design, costing and disaster recovery in the support of business cases.
  • 2 years' experience implementing cloud services in 2 or more hyper-scale providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google.
Desirable requirement (Nice to Have):
  • 3 years' experience deploying resources using Infrastructure as Code
  • 2 years' experience assessing and communicating the impact of technology changes to management and stakeholders.
  • 2 years' experience managing vendors by ensuring contract deliverables are completed and of high quality and meet contractual obligations.
  • Experience managing issues/escalations to resolution.
  • Experience leading or playing a major role as an architect in a large IT Project.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and tools ie. Scrums, Kanban Boards, Sprints, Backlogs.
Education (Must Have one of the following combinations):
  • Degree in Computer Science/IT or related discipline + 6-yr Technology Architect (TA) experience; OR 2-yr diploma + 8-yr TA experience; OR 1-yr certificate +9-yr TA experience; OR 10-yr TA experience.
  • Active industry certifications would be an asset.
