1st cook Minto Exploration - Whitehorse Yukon (82728001)

Rotation is 28 days in 14 days out, Fly In - Fly Out (flexible)
Shifts: 10h / day - 7 days per week. Occasional overtime required
Hourly rate of $21 to $23 (depending on experience) WITH a Real Seal certification
Hourly rate of $19 to $21 (depending on experience) WITHOUT a Real Seal certification
Benefits after 3 months
Camp experience is an asset

Qualifications

JOB OVERVIEW
The Cook 1 will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods: to include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position.

General Responsibilities:
\xe2\x96\xaa Prepares and cooks to order foods that may require short preparation time.
\xe2\x96\xaa May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and may operate a grill station.
\xe2\x96\xaa Prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, provincial and corporate
standards, guidelines and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided.
\xe2\x96\xaa Reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron, and
prepares and cooks food according to instructions.
\xe2\x96\xaa Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
\xe2\x96\xaa Prepares foods under direct supervision or instruction by operating a variety of kitchen
equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding
fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish for culinary use.
\xe2\x96\xaaEstimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
\xe2\x96\xaaClean and sanitize work stations and equipment
\xe2\x96\xaa Receive inventory, move and lift food and supplies and prepare meals for
customers requiring special diets.
\xe2\x96\xaa Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
\xe2\x96\xaa Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications:
Experience/Knowledge:
\xe2\x96\xaa High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
\xe2\x96\xaa minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
\xe2\x96\xaa Presents self in a highly professional manner to others
\xe2\x96\xaa Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives,
supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to use a computer.
\xe2\x96\xaa Good working knowledge of food preparation.
\xe2\x96\xaa Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
\xe2\x96\xaa Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance.
\xe2\x96\xaa Maintains a positive attitude.
