The main purpose of this position is to support the Premier, Executive Council and the Clerk of the Executive Council by managing the process for leading the planning of on and off-site Cabinet Meetings and preparation of weekly Executive Council Agenda and distribution of Council decisions.
This is done by overseeing the Records Secretary (responsible for preparation of the agenda and decision documents and for filing and storing cabinet documents), preparing orders-in-council and true originals for signature, and preparing documentation for the Royal Gazette.
The position also involves professional and administrative work, and is responsible for reviewing and providing direction on Executive Council memorandums concerning Acts, proclamations, regulations appointments, changes in government, ministerial and deputy shuffles, and land transactions. This position also oversees and provides direction and guidance on all submissions that result from enactment of the Executive Council Act.
The incumbent is expected to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position in a managerial capacity with minimal direction and in an efficient and professional manner.
