The Home Renovation Program Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the PEI Home Renovation Programs, Seniors Home Repair Program, and the Seniors Safe @ Home Program (otherwise known as PEI Home Renovation Programs).


This position provides effective leadership and supervision to the PEI Home Renovation Programs. This will include assisting with operational planning and using trend analysis with a view to future program needs. This position is also responsible for ensuring that processes and procedures for the PEI Home Renovation Programs are running efficiently while being as effective as possible while being adhered to by all staff.



The Home Renovation Program Supervisor interprets program policies as required while ensuring consistent application of policy and is also responsible for overseeing and supervising any policies, processes and procedures being developed.

Duties will include:

Provide client and administrative services to governing Acts and Regulations. Accept, review and input applications and permits for the Land Division, as well as other government departments. This includes assistance with online services. Advise clients of new rules and regulations with regards to the National Building Code. This task involves calculation of fees, identify permit exemptions and enter applications into the Enviro database. Respond to inquiries via telephone, email or in person with clients, contractors, real estate agencies, survey companies, law firms, government departments and municipalities. Assist planning staff with applying the final approval stamp to survey plans prior to being registered in the Province's Registry office and distribute related correspondence to the applicant, municipality, government departments and agencies. Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including the shared "Lands division" email. Process and monitor financial transactions, including generating invoices, processing refunds, processing overdue accounts, out of province travel claims, and assist with account reconciliations and report status of accounts and discrepancies. Accept and process payments via phone, mail and/or over the counter for applications, licenses, permits and inspection reports. Balance cash sales and electronic transactions, receipt reports and transport bank deposits to banking institution daily. Create and maintain Septic, Subdivision, Development, Building and Home Heat Tank files while ensuring proper procedures are followed under our Record Information Management system; Provide administrative/client services and financial training to new Client Service Officers and summer students on work duties and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of a recognized college administrative or office studies diploma or degree

or

an undergraduate degree from a university Course Work at the Post-Secondary level in Business and Accounting would be an asset. Considerable related experience working with the public in the provision of client services. Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered. The ability to interpret legislation and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. Training and experience in the application of accounting principles. Training in the use of computer applications. ie. Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be proficient in typing and editing correspondence with word processing tools and manipulating and creating data into spreadsheets for reporting purposes. Demonstrated ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with complaints and challenging clients. Ability to work both independently and as a team player. Training in Oracle, Geolinc and Flexviewer would be an asset.
