Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses of Ontario
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
Basic ECG interpretation course
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required
Advanced ECG interpretation course
Current Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS) Certification
Current Non-violent crisis intervention (NVCI) course
-Current IV Initiation Skills - adult and paediatric
Added skills - IV Below Drip Chamber administration, Specialized IV Infusions, Rhythm Interpretation, Thrombolytic Therapy, Hemodynamic Monitoring and Ventilatory Care required
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred
NRP, PALS, ENPC preferred
Emergency Nursing Program Diploma an asset
Minimum 6 months Emergency experience within last 3 years required
Minimum 3 years Medical/Surgical experience preferred
one year's critical care experience within the past 3 years required
Excellent Public Relation, organizational and communication skills
Able to work in a fast paced multidisciplinary setting
Satisfactory performance appraisal in current position
Documented commitment to continuing education through in-service, staff meetings and self-motivated learning
Satisfactory Attendance if internal
Commitment to Patient Care & Safety and Service Excellence
Satisfactory vulnerable person's sector criminal background check
