St. James and St. Ann's Elementary

(SJA) is located in West

Abbotsford

, just off the Mt. Lehman exit. Nestled near Gardner Park and Fishtrap Creek, it's steps from local trails, close to shopping and transit, and minutes from the heart of the community.


With about 225 students from Kindergarten to Grade 7, SJA offers a smaller school setting that allows for a more personal and connected experience. We're rooted in Catholic faith formation and are committed to supporting our students academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. JOB DESCRIPTION

St. James and St. Ann's Elementary

is a faith-filled Catholic learning community dedicated to fostering academic excellence, creativity, and spiritual growth in our students. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team, guiding Grade 5-7 students in their French language studies.


This position consists of the following responsibilities:

French Teacher (0.2 FTE)

Providing French language instruction to KG - Grade 7 students. Performing appropriate assessments and providing feedback to students and parents. Working collaboratively and cohesively with staff for the benefit of the students Working with the Learning Support department to support students with exceptionalities. Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).

Qualifications & Requirements:

Valid teaching certification in British Columbia. Background in French language. Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills. Commitment to Catholic education and the values of faith-based learning. Ability to collaborate with staff, students, and parents to foster a supportive learning environment. A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular opportunities will be looked upon favourably.

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia.
