The Manager, Public Health is a key leadership role within South Zone Operations and reports directly to the Director, Chronic Disease Management, Public & Primary Health Care, South Zone. This position is responsible and accountable for leading an operational team in the planning, delivery and evaluation of public health services throughout the South Zone, particularly within Oral Health preventative, injury prevention, community development and health promotional activities. This work contributes to healthier communities and populations. The Manager is accountable for the delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family focused care. The manager is accountable to supporting site operations, in addition to program operations, as part of a leadership team. This role will require flexibility, innovation and change leadership as the program transitions with Health System refocus. This position is negotiable within the South Zone. Description:
The Manager is a key leadership role in Population and Public Health, reporting to a Director. The Manager is responsible and accountable for managing the operational team in rural and urban locations with the planning, delivery and quality improvement for generalist Registered Dental Assistants, Registered Dental Hygienists, Community Heath Representatives and Health Promotion Facilitators. The Public Health Manager, working in close partnership with their Director, is accountable for the delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family-focused care for their assigned program areas and sites. The Public Health Manager is accountable for establishing and maintaining working relationships with external and internal stakeholders, collaborating with clients and families as partners in care. This role has Financial Management accountability to plan, determine, manage and monitor assigned budget(s), authorize expenditures and have complete accountability for multi-faceted budgets. This role has People Resource accountability with the supervision of staff, oversight of contracted workers along with coaching/mentoring/advising peers performing the same or related duties. The Manager position has cross-functional accountabilities with Rural Site Managers, Clinical Operations Directors, Managers and Provincial Programs. This role is supported by specialized technical expertise and strong working relationships with Medical Officers of Health and other clinicians.
