The Ramp Operations Manager plays an integral role in ensuring that we are meeting and maintaining the highest of safety standards during our ground operations. Strong leadership, impeccable safety focus and superior communication are essential to success in this role. The Ramp Operations Manager is responsible for safe, efficient, and effective ramp operations. Reporting to the Director of Ground Operations, this position manages the ramp operations department in YXY and is responsible for ramp operations in northern outstations. Duties and Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Coordinate, oversee and participate in all ramp operations \xc2\xb7 Supervise, direct, assign and evaluate the work of direct reports \xc2\xb7 Maintain seamless communication within the ramp department and with other departments to ensure efficient operations \xc2\xb7 Oversee meeting performance objectives and suggest areas for improvement \xc2\xb7 Provide a link for irregular operations situations between bases and initiate the procedures when required \xc2\xb7 Monitor and improve on-time performance, ramp effectiveness and safety \xc2\xb7 May be required to assist in starting up new bases and outstations \xc2\xb7 Act as a resource for all ramp employees \xc2\xb7 Maintain all WCB claims \xc2\xb7 Assist with people management, resource management, regulatory compliance, training and audits as request by the Director of Ground Operations Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: \xc2\xb7 Detail-oriented and observant with exceptional organizational/time management skills \xc2\xb7 Analytical approach to problem-solving with the ability to coordinate multiple moving pieces at the same time \xc2\xb7 Good people skills (e.g., excellent verbal and written communication skills) \xc2\xb7 Strong computer proficiency and aptitude with data entry software programs \xc2\xb7 Excellent awareness of health & safety matters \xc2\xb7 Familiarity with restricted airport operations and/or Transport Canada aviation regulations Qualifications/Conditions of Employment: \xc2\xb7 Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; \xc2\xb7 Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Ramp Operations; \xc2\xb7 Minimum two (2) years management or leadership experience; \xc2\xb7 Required to obtain and retain a valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC), Restricted Operators Certificate \xe2\x80\x93 Aeronautical (ROC-A), and Airside Vehicle Operations Permit (AVOP) \xc2\xb7 Must successfully complete all initial and recurrent training; \xc2\xb7 Must be physically fit (able to lift up to 70 pounds repetitively, stand for extended periods of time, move in confined spaces, bend, knee, crawl, stoop, and climb); \xc2\xb7 Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or show proof of right to work in Canada.
