Role Overview:

As a long-form YouTube editor, you will play a key role in transforming raw talking-head and documentary-style footage into polished, engaging videos that educate, entertain, and retain viewers. You will work closely with Creative Directors to bring each clients brand, tone, and storytelling style to life. This role combines creative storytelling, technical excellence, and a deep understanding of YouTube retention, pacing, and structure. Your edits will directly contribute to growing audiences and strengthening brand authority for Genesis Media clients.

Responsibilities:

Transform raw footage into polished, high-retention long-form YouTube videos. Use pacing, visuals, motion graphics, B-roll, and sound design to enhance storytelling. Work closely with Creative Directors to ensure all edits align with brand positioning, visual identity, and narrative goals. Maintain organized project files and efficient communication across the team while meeting multiple deadlines without compromising quality.

Required Skills:

Years of video editing experience with YouTube creators or agencies. Expert proficiency in editing software. Strong understanding of YouTube storytelling, pacing, and retention mechanics. Experience crafting narratives from long talking-head or multi-camera footage. Knowledge of colour correction, sound design, and motion graphics. Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication. Ability to work fast while maintaining precision and quality. * A portfolio demonstrating strong YouTube editing, high-impact storytelling, and strong fundamentals.
