YOUTH WORKER

(Full-time, Permanent Position)

About the position:

McMan is seeking to recruit a dedicated YOUTH WORKER that will work with children from 4-12 who struggle with complex pain-based behaviours, using the CARE Model while demonstrating a strength-based, solution-focused approach. This home has a total of 3 bed, all-gender home. This position could range from supporting 1-3 children at anytime. The ideal staff will posses' strength in supporting kids with meaningful activities, creating structure, and connecting them with their culture.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, one week 7-3 and next week 3-11 shift based on program needs.

Edmonton, Alberta

What you'll do:

Connect with and develop helping relationships with youth

Support and offer guidance to youth

Supervise youth in the home

Complete documentation

Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home

Participate in on-going program development

What you bring:

Completion of a Degree/Diploma in Human Services

Six (6) months of directly related experience in youth/family work

Equivalencies may be considered

Standard First Aid-Level C CPR + AED

Police Information Check; including Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months)

Children Services Intervention Record Check (from within the last 6 months)

Valid 3-year Class 5 driver's license and current drivers abstract are required and/or a reliable vehicle with $2 Million liability auto insurance

Strong communication and relationship building skills are an asset

Ability to deal with complex high needs

Experience with trauma and developmental delays

Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and harm reduction practices

CARE (Children And Residential Experiences) training is an asset

Desire to see young people succeed

Ability to assist with Personal Care
