Associated Youth Services of Peel (AYSP) is an accredited, not-for-profit charitable organization, supporting children, youth and families with mental health and/or youth justice issues. We are currently seeking a Youth Worker to join our Education and Community Partnership Program (ECPP). The ECPP program works collaboratively with the Peel District School Board to develop and implement individualized programs for grade 9 & 10 students who are unable to attend regular or special education classes, to address their academic, social and emotional needs.

Location:

Head office in Peel Region, with requirements to travel within Peel to designated community-based schools

Hours of Work:

30 hours per week (days)



Responsibilities:



Provide support to post-secondary students in relation to their academic, social and emotional needs in a classroom setting Develop and deliver programming applicable to the successful operation of an ECPP classroom Develop and deliver classroom behaviour management and social skills coaching Establish and maintain professional alliances with school board faculty and administration, collateral agencies and service providers Participate in monthly peer and individual supervision Maintain professional documentation, in the form of case notes, service plans, reports and statistical information Pivot from in person to virtual services as required by the agency and/or school board ECPP staff work six hours per day Monday to Friday ECPP staff commence work five work days before the start date of the school year, and will continue working until five work days following the end of the school year ECPP staff vacations align with school breaks. Staff take vacation during the school holiday break in Dec/Jan (seven vacation days) and March break (five vacation days) ECPP employees do not work for seven weeks between the end of the school year (July and August), and are paid for this time off

Qualifications and Experience:



An Undergraduate Degree in Social Work or Community College Diploma in Social Services or Child and Youth Work Minimum 1-2 years' experience working with youth and families with complex needs Knowledge of and experience in strength-based and evidence-informed practices, including motivational interviewing, behaviour modification, social skills development, problem solving/conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and Cognitive Behavioural approaches Demonstrated ability to work with multi-need clients utilizing a goal-focused approach Fluency in French or a language other than English is considered an asset

Salary Range:

$51,260 - $60,260 ($28.16 - $33.11); pro-rated to .75 FTE which is $38,445 - $45,195 ($24.64 - $28.97)
