Windsor-Essex Child/Youth Advocacy Centre (WECYAC) is seeking a Youth System Navigator to support trauma-informed care coordination for individuals affected by gender-based violence (GBV), with a particular focus on rural, racialized, immigrant, refugee, and gender-diverse communities. This role ensures timely, safe, and seamless service navigation, minimizing duplication, delays, and retraumatization. Working from an intersectional lens, the Navigator will also help build partner capacity through training, collaborative planning, and policy development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Co-develop project materials, procedures, and policies.
Deliver risk and safety planning training to service providers across Windsor-Essex.
Provide supportive counselling and system navigation for individuals impacted by GBV, in collaboration with service partners.
Participate in multi-agency meetings to coordinate care and support collaborative high-risk planning.
Contribute to a pilot initiative focused on supporting and intervening with low-risk abusive persons.
Collect data, document outcomes, and contribute to program evaluation and reporting.
Ensure all services are culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and equitable.
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in Child and Youth Care (CYC), or Early Childhood Education (ECE), Honours Bachelor of Applied Arts in Social Justice & Legal Studies(BASJ) or a related field.
Demonstrated experience working in the field of gender-based violence, with evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.
Strong knowledge of community resources and ability to build inter-agency connections across Windsor-Essex.
Bilingual in French or fluency in another language is an asset.
Current First Aid/CPR certification and successful completion of a vulnerable sector check.
Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
TERMS & COMPENSATION
22.5 hours per week with some scheduling flexibility.
Hourly wage starting at $24.50.
Contract position ending March 2027.
