to support a young client in the Mississauga (QEW/Cawthra) area. The successful candidate will assist the client
twice per week for three-hour sessions
, focusing on daily living support, academic assistance, and community engagement.
The ideal candidate will be in their
20s
, reliable, and able to build a positive connection with the client. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping youth develop independence, confidence, and life skills in a supportive home and community setting.
Duties:
Provide one-on-one support to a youth client during each session (approximately three hours, twice weekly).
Assist with
homework, organization, and school preparation
.
Support
light meal preparation
and assist with
short therapy or exercise routines
as directed.
Accompany client to
community activities and outings
-- must be able to
drive and provide transportation
using your own vehicle.
Encourage and model positive social interactions, problem-solving, and self-esteem building.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
Communicate regularly with the client's parent and the supervising team to provide updates and feedback.
Qualifications:
Experience working with youth, ideally in a
caregiver, child and youth worker, or similar supportive role
.
Must hold a
valid driver's license
and have access to a reliable vehicle.
Warm, patient, and dependable personality with strong communication skills.
Ability to engage youth through encouragement, activities, and structure.
Educational background or current studies in
Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields
is an asset.
CPR/First Aid certification is considered an asset.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
