Minimum Qualifications:Post-Secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in working with youth ages 11-15.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in youth programming, development, adaptive recreation and community resources.
Strong understanding of the physical, emotional and social needs of youth.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Current Standard First Aid/CPR & AED Certification
Demonstrated safe work practices
Valid Class G driver's licence and acceptable driver's abstract
Assets:Member of Parks and Recreation Ontario
Experience with Active Net Recreation Software System
Safe Food Handlers Certificate
Duties:Develop, coordinate and implement a variety youth programs
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants, and families.
Display knowledge, skills and abilities which provide competent leadership in specific program activities. Leadership and supervisory qualities are essential.
Continue to assess recreational programming needs for youth programs in the community.
Coordinate community partners and volunteers to enhance programs offered.
Monitor program participation and collect feedback to improve programming.
Complete all administrative functions for all Youth Programs including but not limited to program planning, ordering supplies, and ensuring a safe working environment.
Assist with the establishment and enforcement of policies and procedures for the Recreation Services Division as it relates to Youth Programs.
Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation related to program activities.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening and weekend shifts.
