This is a regular part-time position starting at a maximum of 25 hours per week, including weekend and evening shifts as required, with the exception of statutory holidays and program closures. This position will be a hybrid of off-site and in-office hours as needed. This position has the potential for increased hours, depending on funding, community needs, and centre capacity.

Qualifications:
A minimum of one year's experience in a supervisory position and experience working with youth in a recreational setting is preferred
Education or training equivalent to youth recreation programming or leadership will be considered an asset
Minimum Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle; Class 4 driver's license considered an asset
Clean criminal records check and Standard First Aid with CPR C
Commitment to the development, implementation, and adherence to all policies and procedures of the OCA
Strong leadership skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Rate of Pay:
$25.00/hour, plus 4% in lieu of vacation.
$360 cellular phone stipend available after probationary period

Recreation and Rentals Program Manager

Primary Responsibilities
Initiate, organize, and implement community recreation, cultural, leisure, and social programs and events for youth (approx. 8 to 18 yrs) populations; track program registration and total visits
Input all program information into the registration system, proofing to ensure accurate program information is reflected
In partnership with the Office and Communications Coordinator, promote programs using posters and social media content and Oaklands website to reflect current program offerings through
Create and implement an end-of-program feedback evaluation process of programs and report findings to the Recreation and Rental Program Manager
Support the Recreation and Rental Program Manager with facilitator communication, scheduling, and proper invoicing or payroll requirements
Frequent and contribute to Community Centre Network Programmers meetings; collaborate and communicate with other organizations offering youth programs
Attend to user groups or community organizations and the general public as it relates to programs, including School District #61, concerning school rentals for relevant recreation programs
Monitor and oversee the cleaning of youth department equipment; create supplies and/or new materials requests to submit to the Recreation and Rental Program Manager for ordering
Take on the role of direct supervision and support program implementation whenever necessary
Communicate in a professional manner and with a positive attitude with youth, families, volunteers, facilitators, and community agencies involved in programs
Support at front desk reception duties as required
Cover specific tasks of the Program and Rental Program Manager in their absence due to holidays
Other duties as required by the Recreation and Rental Program Manager, Youth Program facilitators, or participants as requested
Program Specific
Knowledge and adherence to the Oaklands Community Association (OCA) policies and procedures, including health & safety procedures. Ensure they are being followed and that the program considers the health and well-being of all participants as its highest priority
Provide direct supervision of programs as required; be alert and responsive to each youth's physical, emotional, and social needs and support behavioural challenges
Facilitate excellent relations between OCA Staff, youth, their families, and facilitators or volunteers
Treat all complaints/concerns with respect
File completed incident/ accident reports
Financial Management
Support the Program Manager in the maintenance of program records, which will assist in the development of annual operational and capital budgets
Cash handling for in-person registration payments or issuing refunds and credits
Responsible for purchasing food and supplies within the approved budget
In partnership with the Recreation and Rental Program Manager, review and monitor operating budgets involving Youth program fees, facilitators' wages, and program costs
Human Resources
In partnership with the Recreation and Rental Program Manager, participate in recruitment and training for Youth program positions
In partnership with the Recreation and Rental Program Manager, develop job descriptions or contract guidelines, as well as program facilitator feedback documents and performance evaluation tools
Oversee facilitator attendance and absenteeism; document and report any disciplinary issues with the Recreation and Rental Program Manager for timely follow-up; inform the Recreation and Rental Program Manager of any problems/issues as soon as possible
Provide updates as needed to the Recreation and Rental Program Manager to report at weekly OCA managers' meetings
Understand Occupational Health and Safety standards and promote safety in the workplace
