Position Overview:



The Youth Program Coordinator, reporting to the Youth Programs Manager, is responsible for coordinating mentoring relationships for youth, as well as planning, organizing, and overseeing all youth-related program activities. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining program documentation, ensuring that key deadlines are met and implementing the mentorship and leadership goals of the program.

Responsibilities



Engage with external organizations to expand and enhance program's reach and efficiency. Work closely with Youth Programs Manager to deliver leadership activities including events, workshops and trainings. Provide regular updates to the Youth Programs Manager on program progress. Coordinate mentorship activities including recruitment, matching, supporting and supervision of mentor mentee relationships. Liaise with facilities and stakeholders to effectively deliver all program activities. Oversee group mentoring, events, data collection, and program evaluation. Orient and train volunteers ensuring clarity and understanding of program guidelines. Represent the program at community meetings and events Prepare and maintain documentation for volunteers and participants in the program. Collect qualitative and quantitative data for program evaluation and other purposes. Prepare program reports Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills



Bachelor's Degree or Diploma related to human services (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Education). Demonstrated cultural competence and clear understanding of barriers and challenges faced by African/Black youths. Experience with program coordination, project planning and event management. Excellent organization, time management and priority-setting skills. Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and google suite. The following will be considered as assets: Experience with intake and assessment of youth and adults. Capacity to speak French or another major African language. Database experience: data entry, database management, tracking participant data, Experience with the use of social media for networking and marketing purposes.

Requirements



40 hours/week which will involve some weekday evening and/or weekend hours. Applicant must be available to work Thursdays 6pm - 8pm and Sundays 4pm - 6pm. Applicant must own a vehicle with valid driver's license and insurance.
