. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 1 year (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the primary purpose of the Research Associate position is to further the research projects through leading and supporting research infrastructure and studies that are part of a child and adolescent mental health research program.
The Research Associate will work on a variety of research projects in the area of child, adolescent, and young adult mental health. They will be responsible for supporting research projects through study participant data collection, managing research databases, and data reporting. This position requires strategic leadership as well as complex and analytical knowledge, and will be responsible for leading some meetings and managing research data and studies as assigned.
The position will require a flexible schedule to accommodate occasional after-hours work (early morning, late evening, and weekends) and travel to different recruitment sites.
This position will be based out of The Summit: Centre for Youth Resilience.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
(job functions include but are not limited to):
Lead recruitment and retention of research participants
Support program associated research studies with variable responsibilities such as research ethics board applications/modifications, participant recruitment, data collection and management, summarizing findings, and presenting results
Manage and maintain research databases in REDCap and other platforms
Engage and collaborate with diverse researchers and community partners
Collection of various types of human research data including questionnaires, behavioural tasks, and neuroimaging
Collection and safe handling of biological samples (e.g., saliva)
Assist with and conduct literatures reviews and knowledge synthesis
Assist with preparation of research documents (research protocols, questionnaires, reports, and manuscripts)
Meeting performance goals such as number of participants intake/seen within a given period
Lead knowledge translation and community engagement initiatives
Timely data reporting, according to deadlines
Maintenance of complex data so it can be accessed an analyzed by all members of the research team
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field, preference given to Neuroscience or mental health related field
Graduate degree is required.
Minimum 3-5 years of research related experience including interactions with research participants, knowledge synthesis, data management, and generating reports
Experience working with youth and/or vulnerable populations is preferred
Experience with REDCap is required
Demonstrated strong communication, time management and organization skills
Ability to work as part of a team and work independently to meet deadlines
Quantitative data analysis experience
Qualitative data analysis experience preferred
Experience with social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) is preferred
Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
