To ensure the successful implementation and operation of the Employment Services program
Lead programming that will provide the youth participants with employment training.
Lead programming (both in groups and individually) to prepare youth to become employed.
Provide support and assistance with any special events
To be accountable and report to the Program Manager, Youth Opportunities Strategy
Responsibilities
Conduct interviews with new participants to the Employment Services program to develop a customized action plan to address their specific need.
Continuously develop, plan and present employment skills training to youth in the Employment Services program in a standardized and scheduled formats including: one on one, in groups and in the community as necessary.
Market and promote the Employment Services programs in the catchment area of the program.
Plan and execute the Employment Services program in accordance with the program guidelines including but not limited to: the recruitment of youth, recruitment of employers, interviewing youth, selection and placement of youth as well as support throughout the placements.
Provide direct support to youth and employers that are experiencing barriers to success; mentor youth to succeed in the program and coach employers through any troubling times.
Coordinate pre and post-employment training for the Employment Services program.
Complete all required statistical reports and data collection on a timely basis.
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience working with youth in employment-related capacity
Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience providing employment related presentations to youth
Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience working with employers who provide youth employment opportunities
Degree or diploma in the social service sector is required.
Bilingual, French and English would be considered an asset
Knowledge of community services.
The ability to form positive relationships with youth is essential
Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience in child and youth development, youth assessment, case planning, and knowledge and experience of group work are required
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, and a general understanding of Microsoft Office software are required
Police Record Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening is required. NVCI, CPR, First Aid Certificate, immunization record, medical clearance, a valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license and access to a vehicle is required prior working directly with clients.
Will be expected to work irregular hours as required by client or program needs, which include weekends and evenings
