Duties:
Engage and nurture youth in our Healing Homes
Provide and promote opportunities to increase participation in Traditional Indigenous practices for
Indigenous clients
To support and assist children in exploring their culture
Participation in recreational programming is required
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team
Participate in the development of client care plans
Qualifications:
Minimum Gr.12, or diploma/degree in Child Youth Care, Addictions and Community Service, Family Support, Community Development, Social Work etc. Other related programs will be considered
Experience working with youth ages 12-17
Respectful of cultural diversity
Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous History, culture, practices, customs and beliefs
Excellent and proven interpersonal and supportive counselling skills
Experience working with youth facing behavioral and emotional challenges
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Valid Manitoba Driver's License

First Aid/CPR would be an asset or training can be arranged upon hire
Successful applicants will be subject to provide Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Reference checks
