Job Overview:



The Yoga Teacher will guide students through transformative yoga practices that nurture both body and mind, creating a welcoming sanctuary where practitioners of all levels can develop their practice. This role involves leading group classes in various yoga styles (Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Restorative, etc.), providing individualized attention and modifications to ensure safe alignment and progression, and fostering an inclusive community atmosphere where students feel supported in their wellness journey. You'll design thoughtful class sequences that balance physical challenge with mindfulness and breathwork, offer private sessions for students seeking personalized instruction, and may assist with specialized workshops such as yoga for stress relief, meditation intensives, or beginner foundations courses. The ideal candidate will work flexible hours (typically 5-15 classes per week, including evenings and weekends) and brings both technical expertise and genuine compassion to create meaningful experiences that help students build strength, flexibility, inner peace, and connection. This position offers the opportunity to share your passion for yoga while maintaining autonomy in your teaching approach and schedule.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



Lead engaging and safe yoga classes for students of varying skill levels and abilities Design balanced class sequences that integrate asanas, pranayama, and meditation Provide clear verbal cues, demonstrations, and hands-on adjustments (with consent) Offer modifications and variations to accommodate different bodies and experience levels Create a welcoming, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment for all students Arrive early to set up the space and greet students before class Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate student progress or concerns Teach specialty classes or workshops in your areas of expertise Provide private or semi-private instruction when requested Stay current with student feedback and adapt teaching methods accordingly Maintain cleanliness and organization of yoga props and studio space Foster community connection and support student relationships with the practice

Qualifications:



200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification (RYT-200) required; 500-hour (RYT-500) preferred Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience (or equivalent practice for newer teachers) Strong personal yoga practice with deep understanding of alignment principles Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common injuries/contraindications Ability to demonstrate poses and provide clear, accessible instruction Excellent communication skills with warm, approachable teaching presence CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or willing to obtain) Liability insurance (or willing to obtain) Flexibility to teach various class times including early mornings, evenings, and weekends Punctual, reliable, and professional demeanor Specialized training in particular styles, populations, or therapeutic applications (a plus) Experience with meditation, breathwork, or yoga philosophy teachings (beneficial) Passion for supporting others on their wellness journey and commitment to ongoing learning
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
