to join our team! We're building a wellness program that supports our athletes, families, and staff in body, mind, and spirit. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in yoga practice and philosophy, a genuine love for teaching, and the ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging environment for participants of all experience levels.
As a member of the Shark family, you'll help athletes develop balance, flexibility, mindfulness, and strength--on and off the mat.
Duties
Lead engaging yoga sessions tailored to a variety of skill levels, focusing on flexibility, recovery, and mindfulness.
Demonstrate correct techniques and offer modifications to meet each participant's needs.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive environment aligned with our "We Before Me - One Team, One Dream" culture.
Communicate clearly with participants about class times, expectations, and any changes.
Encourage a sense of community and connection among athletes, parents, and staff.
Stay current with yoga education and integrate new methods or practices that benefit our athletes.
Skills & Qualifications
Certified
yoga instructor with relevant training and 2+ years of practical teaching experience.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire diverse groups.
Strong understanding of movement, recovery, and mindfulness practices beneficial to athletes.
Positive energy and professional demeanor that align with the Sharks' culture and values.
Reliable, punctual, and adaptable--able to adjust to group dynamics and gym scheduling needs.
Proficiency in English required; bilingual ability (French or other languages) is an asset.
Licence/Certification:
yoga certification (required)
2+ years of teaching experience
