We are expanding our wellness programs and are seeking a qualified Therapeutic Yoga Instructor to join our compassionate and dedicated team.
Position Summary
The Therapeutic Yoga Instructor will be responsible for designing and leading safe, effective, and therapeutic yoga programs for our patients. The ideal candidate has experience working with diverse populations, including those with chronic conditions, injuries, or in post-rehabilitation. This role requires exceptional communication and adaptability to meet the unique needs and abilities of each patient group, in a quiet and pleasant environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and instruct specialized yoga classes focused on restorative, gentle, and therapeutic practices.
Assess the fitness levels and health conditions of participants to modify poses and design programs that are safe and appropriate for individual needs.
Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals at the clinic to create integrated treatment plans for patients.
Educate patients on proper yoga techniques, breathing exercises (pranayama), and mindfulness to improve overall physical and mental wellness.
Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
Monitor participants during class to ensure correct alignment and technique, providing gentle, hands-on adjustments when necessary and with consent.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and patient progress.
Communicate regularly with the clinic coordinator regarding class schedules and patient feedback.
Qualifications
Certification:
Valid Yoga Alliance certification (at least RYT-200) or equivalent.
Experience:
Proven experience teaching therapeutic, restorative, or trauma-informed yoga. Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is highly preferred.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and common health conditions to ensure patient safety.
Skills:
Exceptional communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills with a passion for helping others heal and grow.
Attributes:
A calm, encouraging personality with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
