What you will be doing:

• Provide health, fitness & wellness leadership to guests, members and colleagues
• Lead safe and effective group fitness classes, workshops and outdoor programs as required
• Ensure the facility is in peak condition at all times: operations, cleaning and sanitization of all equipment, supplies well stocked
• Assist guests and members with any questions or concerns they have whilst using the facility
• Become versed in all aspects of the Health Club\xe2\x80\x99s operations ie; telephone, guest relations, Resort Activities services (Kid\xe2\x80\x99s Camp, Heritage Guides, etc.) and retail sales
• Participate actively in all scheduled meetings, emergency drills, training sessions and community events promoting the facility
• Maintain a professional image while dressing properly and speaking positively on behalf of the facility, leading an active and healthy lifestyle
• Assist with promotional activities and initiatives
• Ensure that Resort Activities maintains a positive relationship with all departments in the hotel
• Ensure guest/member satisfaction at all times by reinforcing that safety and service is always our priority
• Welcome guests to the Health Club and ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience
• Ensure the Health Club area is clean and well maintained with adequate supplies in pool area and change rooms
• Instruct guests in use of equipment and ensure safety regulations are adhered to in fitness/pool areas
• Support and assist the Conference Services team with special events as required
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
• Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
• Carry out any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Group Fitness certification
• Current CPR and First Aid
• Degree in kinesiology or other related exercise/fitness degree/diploma an asset
• Experience teaching Group Fitness classes
• Must possess outstanding guest service skills, including professional verbal communication skills
• Self\xe2\x80\x91motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions
• Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Exercise demonstration/participation as required for Group Fitness classes (including lifting weights)
• Walking (including up and down stairs)
• Standing
• Cleaning duties (including lifting weights and equipment)
• Sitting at a desk using the computer
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
