YMCA Early Childhood Educator (ECE) CALL IN Corner Brook - Trainee to Level 4
THIS IS A CALL-IN AS NEEDED POSITION!
Responsibilities
To read, understand and follow all Provincial and YMCA requirements and standards in accordance with Provincial Child Care legislation
To interact directly with the children and act as professional role models for children, volunteers, students and fellow staff
To plan and implement a consistent child focused program in accordance with YMCA Preschool Curriculum and YMCA policy and Procedures
To communicate effectively with children, parents, school representatives and staff
To incorporate physical fitness and healthy living activities into the daily program schedule
To meet the physical demands of YMCA Child Care programs; specifically to walk 5 kilometres at a moderate pace and lift a minimum of 50 pounds
To observe and record daily activities
To maintain a neat, orderly and clean environment, including all activity areas. Kitchen and washrooms.
To ensure that all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and YMCA requirements.
To release children only to those authorized by parent or guardian, to ask for identification in order to ensure that the authorized pick-up has been verified.
To maintain confidentiality of all information related to the center, the children, their families and staff.
To maintain regular attendance, punctuality, attend scheduled monthly staff meetings and to be appropriately dressed and well groomed.
To work together as an integral part of a team, providing support and encouragement to each other.
To complete any other duties as directed by your supervisor and the Director of Child Care
Must follow any and all guidelines regarding from government, YMCA, and School district regarding COVID 19
Qualifications
Trainee to Level 4
Knowledge of Provincial Child care legislation
Current CPR and First Aid Certification
Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (must apply for new at YMCA)
