Pre-K Casual Care Giver - La Scie

Nature and Scope

To provide high quality programs and services to children and families in the YMCA Pre-K Program at Hillside Elementary.

The YMCA Casual Caregiver is under the

direct guidance and direction of the Pre-K Program Administrator

. The casual caregiver assists YMCA Program Administrator to ensure a quality experience to YMCA Pre-K Program Participants

Responsibilities:

To interact directly with the children and act as professional role models for children, volunteers, students and fellow staff

To read, understand and follow all Provincial and YMCA requirements and standards in accordance with Provincial Child Care legislation and YMCA Child protection policies and procedures.

In consult with the administrator, to communicate effectively with children, parents, school representatives, and staff.

To support the program administrator in the implementation of daily program activities including but not limited to preparing snack, engaging with children during play, etc.

To maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment, including all activity areas, kitchen and washrooms

To ensure that all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and YMCA requirements.

To maintain confidentiality of all information related to the centre, the children, their families, and staff.

To work together as an integral part of a team, providing support and encouragement to one another

Qualifications and Requirements:

Certified Criminal Records Check or Criminal Records Screening Certificate and Vulnerable Sector Records Check;

First Aid Certification

Immunization record (or statement of immunization)

Knowledge of Provincial Child Care legislation
