Job Description

KWS Keys Welding Service Ltd., a division of the STC Industrial Group of Companies, is a First Nations owned welding and fabrication shop delivering safe, competitive, quality services to our clients, and engagement and growth to Indigenous communities and people.

KWS Keys Welding Service Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Yard Worker located at our facility in the North Corman Industrial Park.

Responsibilities:

Load, unload and move materials, supplies, and equipment around the yard using forklifts, telehandler, and loader

Maintain an organized and orderly yard, ensuring materials are stored correctly and accessible for production needs.

Assist with inventory counts and manage stock level of materials and supplies. Report shortages or excesses to supervisor.

Properly dispose of scrap materials and waste, following shop procedures and environmental regulations.

Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Assist shop personnel with the movement of materials and equipment as needed.

Keep accurate records of materials moved, equipment maintenance, and any issues encountered.

Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality outputs.

Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or his/her designate.

Qualifications:

Experience running material handling equipment including, forklift, telehandler and loader.

Earth works experience is an asset.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or welding shop environment is an asset.

Ability to identify steel members using a tape measure and referencing a steel handbook.

Ability to read and interpret work orders and safety guidelines.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisor and senior team members.

Ability to lift 50 pounds.
