yard in Navin, Manitoba is where we house and store our gear and equipment. Our shipper/receiver yard workers play a very important role in facilitating the movement of our scaffolding gear to our customers who rent the material or have us build it for their project. Yard Worker Shipping/ Receiving

.



The Yard Shippers / Receivers send, accept and record the movement of equipment and stock to and from an establishment. They determine the method of shipment, prepare bills, invoices, and other shipping documents and verify incoming equipment against invoices and other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged products. Shipper / Receiver Responsibilities:




Shipping, receiving, and tracking of equipment Housekeeping of the shop, yard, and general warehouse maintenance on a continual basis. Unloading and offloading of materials either manually or via forklift. Confirm accuracy of packing slips and material measurement, mark all incoming materials with identifying labels, and record all incoming materials in the Material Tracking Sheet. Complete varying reports regarding materials received with high regard to accuracy and clarity. Filing incoming and outgoing paperwork. Pickup and drop off of material and rental items using a company vehicle. Tracking and recording of rental agreements. Maintain accurate inventory locations utilizing a master list. Ensure all inventory received is returned to the proper location. Provide daily feedback regarding equipment and progression of assigned tasks. As directed, assist others with and perform various manual labor tasks. Must ensure a solid understanding of and compliance with the principles of the company's Code of Ethics. Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics. Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required. Promote a team approach and maintain a dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas. Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required. Promote, execute, and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture. Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections. Work with the Foreman/Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents, or near misses on the worksite, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company's Safety Program. Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.



Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:




Experience in a Shipping receiving role with a general understanding of warehouse operations in an

OUTDOOR

environment.

MUST BE COMFORTABLE WORKING OUTDOORS AT ALL TIMES.

Strong commitment to Safety. The individual will be expected to adhere to safe work practices and Northstar Scaffold Safety Philosophy Strong teamwork skills Experience with the operation of forklifts and pallet jacks Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted. Solid customer service skills, organizations skills, and computer skills Requires basic math skills and the ability to follow instructions and procedures Ability to prioritize workload based on daily requirements. Able to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions. Proficient use of computer programs to track and record items. i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent problem-solving skills required. Good analytical ability and manual dexterity. Must have proven ability to work in tight spots. Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Must be a team player. Ability to work in physically demanding

conditions. Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner. CSA approved steel-toed boots Successful candidates are required to have a valid driver's license and personal reliable transportation. Candidates must successfully complete Northstar Orientation, Site-Specific Orientation as well as any other fit for work testing. Preference will be given to those that have construction experience, fall protection training, first aid, etc an asset. May be subject to Criminal Record checks depending on on-site requirements. Must comply with all safety regulations of Northstar Scaffold. Ensures they are following the applicable Contractor's Safety Procedures, OH&S, Provincial, and/or Contractor's safety requirements.
